Super Museum Sunday Open House on Feb. 10, 2019

The Georgia History Festival Super Museum Sunday is February 10, 2019. As part of this observance, the ECHPS will host an Open House at the Farm and Home Museum from 1 pm to 4 pm.

Please join us for our quarterly covered dish supper meeting of the Emanuel County Historic Preservation Society on January 24, 2019.  The meeting is scheduled to start at 7 PM at the Varner 4-H Building located at 220 S. Circle Dr., Swainsboro, Georgia.

Following the meal, we will have a short business meeting, and then Dr. John Derden will present his program of “Native Americans in the Civil War.”

The ECHPS will provide the meat and tea; please bring vegetables, salads, and desserts to share.

Visitors are welcome. Please join us for our meeting and consider joining the ECHPS.

Please join us as we celebrate the history of Emanuel County at our Annual Fall Harvest Open House. You will see period costumes, period decorations, and some crafts displayed.
There is no admission charged.

2018 Annual Spaghetti Lunch/Supper

Please join us at the Varner 4-H Center for our annual Spaghetti Lunch/Supper fund raiser!

The meal costs $6.00 per plate and includes spaghetti noodles with meat sauce, green salad, garlic bread, cake, and tea or water. The plates are served ready to go from 11:30 to 1:00 PM at lunch and 5:00 to 7:00 PM at supper, but you can eat at the center, too.

We will deliver lunch plates to businesses that order 5 meals or more.

To purchase a ticket, contact a member of the Emanuel County Historic Preservation Society or the Swainsboro/Emanuel Chamber of Commerce. Orders should be placed by October 18.

We would appreciate having volunteers available to help cook and serve. Please contact Missy Elder at (478) 763-3631 if you are able to volunteer.

As you know, our members and friends provide the support necessary to carry out our mission, which is to help Emanuel Countians celebrate our heritage and preserve memories.

We will have our annual trail ride and lunch on the grounds at Chris and Bobbi Mosley’s place near Aline, GA. Chris and Bobbi will have signs for the ride. We will have a picnic lunch for attendees. Please join us!

Directions from intersection of I-16 and Hwy 57 at Aline:  Go south on GA Hwy 57 at Aline, which is just as you cross under I 16 at Hwy 57.  Go south about 1.2 miles from the interstate and turn right onto Eden Church Rd. Go 0.7 miles to Mosley Road, which is a dirt road. The Trail Ride location will be on your left.
